Welcoming a brand new baby into the world is absolute heaven and such an honor to document this exciting time for a new family. This baby girl’s session was no exception. As a Charlotte newborn photographer, I never take for granted the trust placed in me during these first weeks.

This was my first time meeting this family, and from the moment they walked into the studio, everything felt effortless. Sometimes you just click — and that natural comfort always shows in the final images. We were able to create such a relaxed environment, which is exactly what allows those soft, connected moments to unfold naturally.

We captured quite a mix of images during their session — full family portraits, sweet individual images with mom and dad, and of course plenty of baby-only setups. I always guide families through gentle, natural posing so that nothing feels stiff or overly formal. The result is connected portraits that feel authentic and full of warmth.

Big sister is only two years old and absolutely precious. That toddler stage can be unpredictable, but she was amazing. The way she snuggled her new baby sister was heart-melting...what a gem.

Baby Avery's individual portraits were set up a few different ways — some wrapped sweetly and snug, and others gently posed on a blanket while she slept peacefully. Wrapped images create that cozy, secure look that parents adore, while unwrapped blanket poses allow us to see all those tiny details — fingers, toes, lashes — that change so quickly.

The family was dressed beautifully in soft, neutral tones that photographed perfectly against the light studio palette. Coordinated wardrobe choices make such a difference in achieving that light aesthetic that I and many of my families love in new baby photos.

Newborn sessions are typically held around the first two to three weeks of life, when babies are still sleepy and curly. My studio is designed to be calm, warm, and welcoming so parents can truly relax while I carefully pose and photograph their little one.

If you are expecting and looking for a Charlotte newborn photographer, I would love to help you document this incredible season. From styling ideas to a fully guided, relaxed studio experience, every detail is designed to make your session simple and beautiful.
