I absolutely loved having the Eastwood family in the studio this spring for their family and newborn photos. Even though baby Hannah was an “older newborn” at 5 weeks, we got some really (really) amazing photos for her family. She was a pure doll with the eye contact and multiple smiles. Mom was so nervous her girl was going to be fussy or spitting up every 2 minutes, but baby Hannah was loving the spot light. I was shocked by her amazing eye contact with the camera. Big brother Elijah was smitten with his baby sis and was incredibly sweet with her. He loved holding her and just touching her to make sure she was doing okay.

What is the “Simple Studio” photo session?

It is perfect for a middle of the road budget option between a mini or full posed session for more than one reason. If you are more interested in laid back images with lots of snuggles from mommy and daddy (and big siblings!) then this will be perfect for your family. Sometimes, a family will want a lifestyle session but it is more than they’d like to spend, OR the home just isn’t the right spot for one reason or another. This is where Simple Studio sessions come in handy!

Photos included the session: Family and Newborn

In the Simple Studio session we’ll get lots of family shots with the focus being on your new babe. While this isn’t the type of session for props and posing, (see an in studio mini or full for this), it is the best option for those who just want to capture this season of life in a clean and simple atmosphere. Of course, we will plan for photos of each parent alone with the little one. Also, if there is an older sibling, we will get sibling photos too! Then, we will be sure to capture images of your newborn on their own as well!

Answers to common questions:

I would like brand new baby photos. Is it okay to still do these in the first 2-3 weeks of life?

—> Yes, of course! My model in this gallery was a little older, but these are intended for newborn sessions. These are perfect for whatever state baby chooses, Maybe we’ll get both shots of baby asleep and awake!

What should we wear?

—>In my opinion, this bright and airy look is best complimented by bright and airy clothing. Light colored outfits like whites, creams, and pastels are going to look the best, This will keep the focus on your newest family member. I would plan to dress baby in a simple white onesie and we can also wrap him/her up in a white swaddle blanket, (which I’ll provide), or in one that you might want to bring.

We’ve got lots of things we want to bring to use in the photos….multiple outfits and other accessories….will we be able to fit this all in?

—>I’d suggest probably going with a posed studio session in this case! This set is meant to be very simple and natural.

How long will the session last?

—30-45 minutes

What if my baby needs to eat?
—>Don’t worry, mama!! We are on baby’s time and if they get hungry, we will stop for feedings! BUT I will send a little prep guide with suggestions such as giving a full feeding before leaving home so that your babe has a full tummy upon arrival
How many images do we get?

—>All my sessions are all inclusive meaning there is a flat fee and that includes the shoot itself and digital images. Simple studio sessions include 20 fully edited images that you select from the unedited/watermarked gallery.

What if we want family shots like this, but posed shots of the baby?

—>Plan for an in studio mini or full session and let me know that you would like to do family and sibling shots as one of the set ups in the all white space! Easy peasy 🙂
