Emerson turns one in a few days and what better way to celebrate than with a red white and blue cake smash!? How fun is it that her birthday is so close to Independence Day? The 4th of July is easily one of my favorite holidays, so bring on the patriotic cake smash!

Emerson is one of the cutest gals I’ve ever seen! She has the sweetest personality and wears her hair in the cutest little pony tail! During Emerson’s cake smash session, I took some sister shots with her big sister Lana! It was so much fun to see Lana interact as a big sister! I took her newborn and first year photos and now she is all grown up and helping Emerson with her photo sessions! It is crazy how time flies!

Anyways, let’s keeping talking about how Emerson turns one very soon! EEK! When Emerson arrived at the studio we started the session with some sister photos. Emerson responded very well to Lana, which helped her warm up to being in front of the camera. Then we moved into some solo shots of each girl which turned out beautifully! Last, but certainly not least, we moved into the cake smash portion! Meredith June Photography was full of stars, stripes, and cake explosions… but I wouldn’t want it any other way! I love this set up because we went with the classic red white and blue, streamers, flags, and trinkets. However, we added a little rustic flare by placing the distressed ladder and wooden American flag with in the set.

I am in love with how this session turned out! Nothings screams party like a patriotic party! I hope you enjoy your scroll through Emerson’s gallery!
